Make a Difference One Delivery at a Time
A simple meal can mean so much more than food—it can provide comfort, connection, and peace of mind to a senior living independently. Join our team of Home-Delivered Meal Drivers and help ensure older adults in Madison County receive nutritious meals along with a friendly face each week.
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Pick up pre-packed meal boxes at the designated distribution location.
- Deliver meals to seniors on an assigned route in Madison County.
- Provide a friendly greeting during each delivery.
- Occasionally assist participants by carrying meal boxes into their homes and placing them in the kitchen or another requested location.
- Report any immediate concerns about a participant's well-being to program staff.
- Maintain participant confidentiality and treat every individual with dignity and respect.
Schedule
- Day: Monday mornings
- Time Commitment: Approximately 1 hour per week
- Routes: Most routes are within the City of Jackson, with additional county routes available for volunteers interested in serving surrounding rural areas.
Volunteer Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license.
- Current automobile insurance.
- Reliable personal vehicle.
- Ability to lift and carry meal boxes (approximately 10–20 pounds).
- Comfortable walking to residences and occasionally entering homes to assist participants with bringing meals inside.
- Successful completion of a background check.

- Punctual and committed to serving their assigned route.
- Looking for a meaningful way to give back in just one hour each week.
