Looking for a meaningful way to give back? Join Jackson Grown Mentors and help guide the next generation of leaders in Jackson!

We’re seeking volunteers to mentor students once a month on Fridays from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at theCO. Sessions run from September 2025 through May 2026, and lunch is provided.

As a mentor, you’ll support students as they navigate challenges and work toward solutions. Each month will feature a new theme or skill—ranging from problem-solving and communication to leadership and goal-setting.

Your time and experience can make a lasting impact. Come be a part of something powerful—help students grow, and grow with them.

Giving Tuesday: Harvest & Share

On Sunday, November 3rd from 2–5 PM, join Keep My Hood Good for a special service project at 701 E Chester St, Jackson, TN.

We’ll be picking fresh Mustard Greens and Turnip Greens straight from the garden—and then sharing them with our neighbors so families can enjoy them in their Thanksgiving meals.

This is more than a harvest—it’s a chance to give back, connect, and nourish our community. Every helping hand makes a difference!

Join us on Monday, October 27th at the UTM Parsons Center for a special Blood Drive from 12 PM – 6 PM.

In addition to donating blood, we’ll also be collecting canned goods to help stock the blessing boxes on campus—spreading kindness in more ways than one.

This event is held in loving memory of Tyler Spann—a sweet, respectful, and caring young man who touched so many lives. Though deeply missed, his legacy of love and generosity continues through acts of service like this.

Teachers and counselors have found that in some instances, when Monday morning comes, they are forced to compete against hunger for the attention of their students. Unfortunately, many school children in our community go home to little or no food on the weekends. The RIFA Snack Backpack ministry works to fill this gap by providing kid-friendly, easy-to-prepare, nutritious food items for children who are at risk of going hungry on Saturdays and Sundays.

This ministry began in 2005 by serving 25 children at one elementary school. Today, RIFA provides Snack Backpacks to approximately 1,000 children at 14 elementary schools each week during the school year (37 weeks). Each Snack Backpack provides a child with six meals and two snacks and costs approximately $4.76. The yearly cost per child in the Snack Backpack program is $176.

The READ Team began in 2014 and currently serves in six Jackson-Madison County schools: Alexander, Andrew Jackson, Arlington, Isaac Lane, Lincoln, and Rose Hill. The program pairs volunteer coaches with second grade students to help improve their sight word recognition. On average, students participating in the The READ Team increase their sight word recognition by 290% in just one school year.

Coaches can choose to come once a week or to both of their days at their schools. The Read Team operates from September to mid-December and mid-January to April.

VOAD- brings organizations together to meet the needs of communities in support of disaster resiliency, response and recovery

We are always looking for volunteers who can drive the WOW Wagon to local neighborhoods and schools within our service area. Drivers must be at least 18yrs old, provide their own vehicle with insurance, and consent to a background check.

Please note the background check process will take between 2-3 business days. We will reach out to you with those results and next steps. 

Love Your Block is in need of volunteers for our home repair projects that take place throughout the year. Activities include painting, landscaping, pressure washing, porch repair, ramp building, and more. 

Love Your Block holds litter cleanups in both residential and commercial areas throughout the year to help keep our city clean. Sign up today to help clean up, or email us to plan a litter cleanup in your neighborhood! 

Categorize books digitally and physically and read story to students once a week. 

We are looking for volunteers who will influence the everyday life of a Club member through our three pillars of programming-Academic Success, Character and Leadership, and Healthy Lifestyles. To continue to offer our youth the support and tools they need, we need passionate, engaging, high-energy, self-starter, fun, and ready to help our youth learn and grow volunteers like you. Popular areas include Homework Assistance, Science, The Arts, Sports & Recreation, Chef Club, Technology, and Education. Operating hours for the school year are 3:00-6:30 p.m., and Summer-9:00- a.m. 5:00 p.m.
